Our Board Members
Pam Colaw
Founder
Originally from a rural background in Oregon, Pam understands the healing effects of prayer, fresh air, the great outdoors, and quality time in the presence of a horse. Having mentored children at an alternative school and with her past experience as the adviser of a high school rodeo program and a former church youth group adviser, her compassion for young adults and their parents/guardians is strong and deep.
Pam has been a competitive horsewoman and brings her life experiences to HSYR. She retired from her former career as a key executive of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in order to bring the vision of Hidden Springs Youth Ranch to fruition.
Mark Colaw
Co-Founder
A native of San Antonio, Mark has a passion for developing honorable qualities in the youth of his community. As a longtime leader of volunteers with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and as the donor of the use of the land upon which the youth ranch operates, he lends his strength, knowledge, experience, resources, visions and desire to the program. With his love of the Lord, horses, and the youth of Texas, this hardworking businessman, husband, and father is an integral part of HSYR.
Bert Pfiester
Board Member
Bert is currently CEO and President of Respite Care San Antonio and is a graduate of Upper Iowa University with a Bachelors of Science in Management.
He has served as a member of the Executive Committee/Board of Directors and as a Former Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo as well as the Executive Committee/Board of Directors of the San Antonio Silver and Black Foundation.

Louie Kaupp
Board Member
Pastor and author Louie Kaupp attended Southeastern Bible College, Ft. Hays Kansas State College (B.A., English), and Kansas State University (M.A., English) and taught at Covenant School in San Antonio, The University of Texas, San Antonio and Region 20.
A longtime servant, Pastor Kaupp has led Covenant Churches in Manhattan and San Antonio, served on the staff at Eagle's Nest Christian Fellowship and Summit Christian Center (San Antonio) and volunteered at Maranatha Bible Church and Community Bible Church, also in San Antonio.
